So I want to start by saying that I am a big myloops fan who has purchased a few dozen items from their store and has always left 5 star reviews with the exception of 1 review that i gave a 4 star rating. Which is why this template pack was so shocking for me. Myloops has always released top level products and I have never been truly disappointed, until now. For starters, the moment you open up the template in ableton it is already clipping on the master channel. I have never had that problem with any template including the free flp’s and als files you can find off of various youtube channels. This is unbelievably amateurish and just plain unacceptable. In fact, the entire song is a gainstaging nightmare. Even the standard white noise that is used in the layering process is so loud you can actually hear it in the background of the song! Your not supposed to be able to actually hear the white noise clearly in the finished song. It is supposed to be there to add extra depth to the frequency spectrum without being audible. The volume for many components are set way too high and unless you want to try taking a messy song and practice fixing it, this is not for you. They were very generous in offering templates for multiple daws as well as including a whole bunch of midi files which could easily be an entire midi pack on its own. There is a lot of quantity here but the quality here is just horrific. Sorry myloops, I am still going to buy your stuff because I am a big fan of the site, but you really let me down on this one.

I’m not always a fan of templates but listening to the demo had me sold. This definitely lives up to “classic”. All templates load into FL or Live without issues. These are complete projects, not starters. There’s a lot to learn from these templates. Even if you don’t make use of everything these are great just to listen to. This is a great learning tool and four great tracks. You also learn that it doesn’t take a large project to make great music.
