Episode 2 starts off where the previous episode ended. We have our basic “starting template” done, but it’s empty and we now want to start building a new track using it. How do we start ? What should the main track structure be for trance music ? How to add different elements to the track ? Adam shows us all of this step by step (and more). In this episode, you’ll also find out how the work done in Episode 1 (preparing all the channels and busses) will prove extremely useful for building the track.

This tutorial is for artists who want to work faster and improve their sound at the same time. It’s aimed at Logic Pro X users, but the tricks you will learn can also be applied in other DAWs.

This was Adam’s first number 1 track on Beatport and was one of the highlights in the finale of the ASOT 600 celebrations at the Who’s Afraid Of 138?! Stage. Even today, many diehard Trance fans consider this single to be one of, (if not the best), Uplifting productions of 2013.
What followed after his success with his 2013 single debut was his Subculture premiere entitled ‘Mandarine’, which also topped the Beatport Trance Top 100 charts and was supported by Manuel Le Saux, Richard Durand, Indecent Noise and many more. Adam then went on to produce two more Top 10 singles in 2014 including his astonishing follow up from ‘Napalm Poet’ of ‘Agent Orange’, and has had nearly every single of his career played on ASOT. As far as collaborations go, Adam has worked with 2 of the leading names in the Trance scene today with Bryan Kearney & Menno De Jong and their combined might has brought about the classic remix of Conductor & The Cowboy’s ‘Feeling This Way’ and the wondrous collaborative single, ‘Solicitude’, (respectively).
He is also well known for his stellar remixes of John O Callaghan’s ‘Big Sky’, Menno De Jong’s ‘Creatures Of The Night’, and these reworks strive to further showcase his signature, Uplifting sound. Lately, his remixes to Mark Sherry’s A Star With A Star and Jordan Suckley’s Contaminated have been fantastic additions to his growing discography, and his reworks of Liam Wilson’s Kiss and Lange & Susana’s Risk Worth Taking were featured on Solarstone’s Pure Trance Vol. 3 and Lange’s We Are Happy People remixes album.

I’m a little disappointed in this second episode, I thought to discover in this volume all initially for the Trance in Logic Pro X. I am not at all bilingual, I base myself on the explanations in pictures and on 62 minutes only, 30 minutes are useful to me, it does little for the price. On this video, Adam we still add plugins and shows us all a library of samples that must have, but that I don’t own. These videos is still for people already confirmed, that on hundreds of library and plugins in their computer and not for amateurs, it do not have the technique to build the trance. Music is a hobby for me, this is not my work. I have little be purchased a few plugins and samples Myloops, but I will not be able to follow. I think I’ll stop at the second episode. Damage

Wow, another great tutorial. There are thousands of tutorials that I’ve come across on how to produce over the few years. One tip is to have a reference track but I never knew how to use it to my full ability. Adam Ellis shows why and how to use it to your benefit. Which was mind blowing and that was in the first 10 mins and that was just one section of the video. The tips Adam gives on producing is invaluable/brilliant. Yes, there are lots of VST’s involved and samples but you can follow with other software/Vst’s and sample libraries.Cracking tutorial. I look forward to the next one.!

I really like and enjoy this tutorial series so far.
It helped me a lot to understand a few more thinks about trance. The only problem is that there are a lot of “professional” Plugins been used. But it is no problem to recreate it with the standard ones in a lower quality.
But at the end it is a nice tutorial and it will definitely help to improve the understanding of Trance Production

Like the first tutorial, Adam continues with a professional presentation showing how to structure a trance track and it does help to use your existing favorite tracks to help with the track layout. Thanks again Adam for showing some really good tips with plugins which luckly I have some of them, but it would be good to demonstrate using standard DAW plugins within Logic Pro X. Regardless, a good insite into structure building your tracks. Thanks Adam.

Another very useful tutorial for people like me whose only opportunities to learn is with online tutorials. As the previous reviewer I agree Adam should stick to Logic’s built it plug-ins. As I mainly work in Ableton a similar tutorial could be offered for Live users. Recommended.

Like the first tutorial this will not disappoint. Adam’s professional presentation showing the step by step procedure of a good structure for a trance track. It also has some great tips and tricks for some plugins and how to use the EQ to make your track sound more fuller. Even as a cubase user i would highly recommend this tutorial.

My opinion about this second tutorial is the same as the first. It’s a great job from Adam. I don’t know if Adam always use the same method to create his songs (I don’t think so) but I miss a longer explanation about the structure, because Adam only focus the explanation of the beginning of the song.
It would be great have the video in full HD 1080p and with subtitles.

Another great video from Adam which helped me with the one thing I find hardest to do, namely structure out the track. Using a reference track is such a simple but brilliant idea as it not only helps you with the arrangement but also gives you some guidance on the sound and helps with mixing. I always enjoy watching how other producers structure their tracks but Adam seems to have a formula that works for him so I will adopt this.

After watching episode one, I was eager to see how the song starts. If I was only to review the video, I’d have to continue praising it the way I did the first one but since it came with an incomplete logic file I have to take some points off. I was looking forward to working out rather building up on Adam’s project but after opening the session, ALL the samples were missing. Very upsetting… but the video was good. Again, very informative and inspiring!
